Position Summary

The Continuous Improvement Engineer it is a critical role for Prospiant as it is all about efficiency, quality, and safety. The ideal candidate will have a passion for optimizing technology and processes to produce the highest quality products, at the highest efficiency and ensures the welfare of our workforce. Reports to the Vice President of Operations.

The Key Objectives for this Role:

  • Champion and facilitate Kaizen continuous improvements initiatives across the Operations platform.
  • Analyze and evaluate existing systems and processes, perform value-stream-mapping for identifying opportunities to eliminate non-value-added activities.
  • Formulate, develop, design & engineer and test innovative solutions based on risk analysis, efficiency and organizational objectives and key results.
  • Coordination and compliance with Prospiant's safety programs across all operational platforms and sites including the management of the Safety Manual.
  • Provides direction to ensure programs and services complied with the highest environmental, health and safety standards. Promote Prospiant's reputation by delivering innovative solutions while upholding company, corporate, federal, and state regulations.

Primary Accountabilities (Essential Duties)

  • Evaluate and explore new and existing processes, equipment, and materials as an input to scheduling methods, performance metrics and financial standards
  • Manage and conduct employee training for productivity improvement projects, and mentor fellow engineers and technicians
  • Apply statistical methods and perform mathematical calculations to determine manufacturing processes, staff requirements, production standards and EHS risk.
  • Study operations sequence, material flow, functional statements, organization charts, and project information to determine worker functions and responsibilities.
  • Develop manufacturing methods, labor utilization standards, and cost analysis systems to promote efficient staff and facility utilization.
  • Ensures policies and procedures are monitored and updated to meet current business needs and requirements with a focus on health and safety.
  • Ensure overall EHS compliance of all manufacturing facilities, construction sites and office operations according to the Prospiant EHS manual.
  • Guarantee safety for people utilizing various equipment, improved safety, higher yields, better production rates, and higher attainment in the organization.
  • Drive and instill a positive group culture that embraces safety and continuous improvement.
  • Oversight and management of Contractors and Supplier EHS compliance at construction sites and facilities.
  • Manages Prospiant's Safety Committee agenda and meetings.
  • Lead and manage Kaizen and Safety KPIs dashboard(s).
  • Manage and enforce PPE & ToolBox talk EHS program across all manufacturing and construction sites.
  • Oversees all safety site coordinators at project job sites and manufacturing facilities.
  • Leads the management of all EHS training program systems for staff and provides training to new employees in order to on-board new employees in Prospiant's safety culture and safety management systems, including COVID prevention protocols.
  • Mentor department managers, as needed, to augment and support their efforts in moving to a positive culture of continuous improvement and safety.
  • Conduct and perform multiple-site audits to ensure compliance with regulatory, compliance and corporate requirements, followed by Kaisen/Jishuken improvement events.
  • Audits, prepares reports and delivers recommendations to department managers, safety committee representatives, departments, managers, and employees.
  • In coordination with management designs systems to recognize and eliminate occupational safety and health hazards, including hazards which are recognized as risks to employees.
  • Ensure multi-site compliance with all local EHS applicable codes.
  • Ensures that factory operations follow world class protocols and best practices comply with occupational safety & health regulations, as well as corporate regulations.
  • Ensure policies and procedures are monitored and updated to meet current business needs and requirements.
  • Continuously monitor the plant for hazardous safety and health conditions and ensure identified hazards are corrected, eliminated, or guarded.


Bachelor's degree in a related field

5-7 years experience in Environmental, Health and Occupational Safety and/or Compliance Area

3-5 years experience in manufacturing

OSHA-30 or above

Ability to travel Up to 50%

Knowledge of production machinery, processes, and standards in the field or industry

Understanding of continuous improvement (Kaizen), lean manufacturing and supply-chain management.

Familiarity with Six Sigma Statistical, Process Control (SPC) and Just In Time (JIT) strategizing

Critical thinking and problem-solving skills

Data analytics skills and experience

Attention to detail

Understanding of ergonomics

Project management skills

Strong communication and presentation skills

Organizational, planning, and documentation skills

Adept at using presentation software and presenting complex information to non-technical management personnel and other stakeholders

Ability to work on multiple projects in various stages simultaneously

Past use of Agile/Scrum or similar collaborative tools a plus
